The ECHOES two half-day event recently held in Brussels on the 12th-13th December was fully attended with 80 people in person and 600 participants joining online. Day 1 consisted of setting the context for the Cultural Heritage Cloud with presentations from a variety of organisations involved in the sector, from funding and administration of research, technology development and services to the everyday activities of a GLAMS organisation such as KIK-IRPA. The Keynote presentation Bart Fransen provided a fascinating insight into the restoration of the Ghent Altarpiece and other works by Jan Van Eyck in the Verona Project. The afternoon concluded with a round table discussion. Day 2 was concerned with how to involve as many Cultural Heritage communities as possible in ECHOES and to encourage their take-up and participation in the Cultural Heritage Cloud. The discussion at the end demonstrated a high level of interest from a variety of people involved in the sector.
