ECHOES Announces High-Level Policy Event and Workshop to Launch the Cultural Heritage Cloud
The ECHOES consortium, in partnership with the European Commission, is proud to announce two pivotal events centred around the future of cultural heritage in the digital age. These events will take place on 12-13 December 2024 at the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA), Brussels, with both in-person and online participation available.
High-Level Policy Event: Toward the Cultural Heritage Cloud
- Date: 12 December 2024, 13:30-17:30 CET
- This event will mark the official launch of the Cultural Heritage Cloud, bringing together distinguished speakers, including representatives from the European Commission, European Parliament, and cultural heritage experts from across Europe. Highlights include a keynote on digital research advancements, round-table discussions on governance, and presentations from ECHOES representatives and key stakeholders in the cultural heritage sector on the process of creating the Cultural Heritage Cloud.
Workshop: Onboarding Communities into the Cultural Heritage Cloud
- Date: 13 December 2024, 09:00-13:00 CET
- Focused on empowering communities to engage with the Cultural Heritage Cloud, the workshop will feature practical sessions and discussions about challenges and opportunities in the digital preservation of cultural heritage. Representatives from the ECHOES project, supported by experts from Europeana, ARIADNE, Michael Culture Association, E-RIHS and CLARIN ERIC, will guide participants through the tools and strategies that ECHOES will provide to enable everyone to shape the future of the Cultural Heritage Cloud. These include a consultation to identify community needs and expectations, and the funding opportunities offered through the Cascading Grants programme.
