For the first time, ECHOES, AUTOMATA, TEXTaiLES, and HERITALISE are joining forces to present a collaborative workshop exploring the transformative potential of the Cultural Heritage Cloud. This unique event will provide an in-depth look at the new opportunities and tools that are shaping the future of Digital Archaeology and Heritage Studies.

The full-day workshop features a dynamic mix of engaging presentations, hands-on sessions, and networking opportunities. The workshop is tailored for professionals and researchers in Digital Archaeology and Digital Heritage studies, offering valuable insights into the latest advancements in cultural heritage preservation and digitisation with a specific focus on the Digital Archaeology community.

Morning Session (09.00 to 13.00)

The day begins with an exploration of the ECHOES EU Project and its vision for the Cultural Heritage Cloud. Learn how this innovative platform is revolutionising the digital landscape for archaeologists and cultural heritage professionals. Topics covered will include:

  • How ECHOES supports and structures the Cultural Heritage Cloud,
  • The Cultural Heritage Cloud Infrastructure,
  • The Governance, and Sustainability of the Cultural Heritage Cloud,
  • The ECHOES consultation process and cascading grants for cultural heritage institutions,
  • The ECHOES collaborative tools and services.

Afternoon Session (14.00 to 18.00)

The afternoon session features the Cultural Heritage Cloud sister projects and beyond the state of the art advances in digitising cultural heritage.

You’ll hear from AUTOMATA (Artificial Intelligence for ceramics and lithics), HERITALISE (digitisation of heritage objects and buildings), and TEXTaiLES (textile digitisation). Participants will learn about the project goals and objectives, and the cutting-edge technological solutions being implemented as well current and upcoming tools for Digital Archaeologists.

Interactive Sessions:

Throughout the day, participants will have opportunities to engage in hands-on, interactive sessions and Q&A discussions. These sessions are designed to dive deeper into each project, encourage knowledge-sharing, and explore ways to actively participate in shaping the future of the Cultural Heritage Cloud.
