ECHOES is undertaking a consultation which aims to reach as many professionals involved in Cultural Heritage as possible, especially those from smaller organisations and niche specialisms.
The purpose of the consultation is to:
- Produce a strategy for community building
- Inform the infrastructure design and technological choices of the Cloud
- Identify additional actors that want to be actively involved
- Provide the first integrative activities for the community
- Prepare new community and capacity building activities for the next project phases.
The first step is the online questionnaire, available in English and other key languages. This will be used to identify the cultural heritage and related communities and their use of digital tools in their daily practices. The results will be used to guide the work in ECHOES to develop the Cloud infrastructure, tools and services as well as training and for community building.

The questionnaire is open for responses until the end of April.
As a result of the information gathered in the questionnaire, the next phase of the Consultation will hold workshops and focus groups and conduct interviews. Two workshops have already been organised: the first will be held at Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology (CAA), Athens, 5-9 May 2025 and the second at Digital Heritage 2025 (CAA), Siena, 8-13 September 2025.
